ROADWORKS DISRUPTION

Phase 1 - May 11th

Duration: 3 weeks

  • Works will take place at the Angle Lane junction with Fowlmere Road.

  • This first phase of work will take place over three weeks under three-way signals.

  • The road will be closed overnight for one night at the end of May to allow road resurfacing and installation of road markings.

  • A temporary construction compound will be set up on the east arm of High Street.

Phase 2 - June 1st

Duration: 3 weeks

  • Works will take place on Station Road, at the entrance to Docrwa's Close and Shepreth station / Shepreth Wildlife Park.

  • Station Road will be closed to vehicles at the level crossing for the duration of this phase, preventing vehicle access to/from Barrington Road.

  • Access to the station, Shepreth Wildlife Park and other businesses and Docwra’s Close will be managed under temporary traffic lights.

  • To complete surfacing and road markings, two overnight shifts will be used. Docwra’s Close will be closed but a pedestrian/cyclist diversion will be in place. Emergency access will be maintained.

Phases 3 to 6 - End of June

  • Phase 3 - Meldreth Road / Fowlmere Road junction

  • Phase 4 - Barron’s Green. Fowlmere Road will be closed from phase 4 until the completion of the works.

  • Phase 5 - Fowlmere Road.

  • Phase 6 - Shepreth Road. Street lighting installation will take place alongside phase 6.

  • Note: Phases 5 and 6 will run simultaneously and will include some work on the A10. Limited road closures will be required on the A10 at the junction with Fowlmere Road and Shepreth Road.

When Fowlmere Road is closed, please head through Frog End to reach Shepreth Wildlife Park and the SWCC Hedgehog Hospital.
